Chimney Caps and Screens
Installing a chimney cap on your chimney helps to protect your chimney and 
fireplace from the elements like rain and snow which can cause expensive 
damage to your chimney over time. Chimney caps are also great for keeping 
wild animals like bats, squirrels, racoons and birds from finding their way into 
your home. If your home is in an area surrounded by trees, chimney caps also 
prevent leaves from accumulating and clogging the flue, which can cause 
chimney fires and flue blockages.

Dampers
Dampers are essential as when the chimney is not in use, they can be closed to 
prevent the heat from your home from being sucked outside through the flue. 
We deal with two types of dampers, typical bottom throat dampers that install 
at the base of the flue and are typically controlled by lever inside the fireplace, 
and chain operated dampers which are installed at the top of the chimney and 
are operated via a pull chain at in the fireplace. If you find the area by your 
fireplace to be drafty and cold, it is likely a problem with a missing or 
improperly closed damper that is letting the heat out.

Chimney Liners
The chimney's liner is what vents the toxic gas's generated by your heating 
system or fireplace safely from your home. You may need a new liner for a 
variety of reasons, including damage caused by a new energy efficient furnace 
to older liners. It is also possible in older homes that your chimney was built 
without one. On a liner project, we first disconnect all furnaces and heating 
systems, remove the old damaged clay or steel liner, if present, and install a 
new stainless steel flue liner with a lifetime warrantee, finally re-attaching all 
heating systems and appliances to the flue.

Smoke problems solved

Dryer Vent Cleaning
As dryer vents become filled with lint and other debris, drying time increases 
and can cause the dryer itself to overheat. This increases energy consumption 
since the dryer has to run longer to dry your clothes and can also cause fires in 
the dryer or the dryer duct. The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports 
dryer related home fires are on the increase.  CPSC figures show that in 1997 
there were 16,800 dryer fires which caused 30 deaths. 430 injuries and 97.3 
million dollars in property damage. Another problem created by blocked 
dryer vents serving gas dryers is the possibility of carbon monoxide seepage
